BIO

Kayla Aguila is a Filipino-American dancer and choreographer who seeks her cultural identity through researching and creating movement tasks involving language, narrative, quality and fantasy. By furthering this work in the studio, she continues to learn about her heritage.

 

 

Kayla Aguila began her dance training in the Philippines, learning the Philippine National Ballet Syllabus. In 2011, she moved to Los Angeles and expanded her dance training with a full scholarship at Burbank School of the Ballet. Kayla received her BFA in dance at California Institute of the Arts in 2019. Since then, she has worked with artists such as Aszure Barton, Julie Bour, Dimitri Chamblas, Bret Easterling, Stephen Galloway, Marjani Forte-Saunders, Jermaine Spivey, and Spenser Theberge. Kayla has performed and presented works at California Polytechnic State University, REDCAT, Hauser & Wirth, LA Dance Project, The Hammer Museum, The Hollywood Bowl, Jacob’s Pillow, MOCA, and the Paris Opera.

 

Kayla is currently represented by Go 2 Talent Agency.
